There’s a lot of talk around town about how the Ibanez TS-9 is almost the same as the Ibanez 808, and that in order to get your TS-9 to sound like an 808 all you have to do is change two small resistors. This is false.

There is a substantial difference between these two pedals. Even though the circuit board looks the same their components are very different in both value and quality.

Even after the TS-9 has been moded to supposed “808"specifications, the sound produced by the 808 is still superior to the TS-9. So don’t waste you money getting your TS-9 modded to 808 spec’s.
